2008 Romanian Parliamentary elections and their consequences

The initiators of this event wished to highlight the consequences of introducing a new electoral system in Romanian parliamentary elections in respect to the balance between different domestic party forces, especially since they will be reflected in the relationship between Romania as a member of the European Union and EU.
Two action points were intended by the conference:
- launching a debate regarding the importance of these elections in the view of the future EP elections which will be held in 2009 in Romania;
- announcing a follow-up, scheduled before the EP elections in 2009.
