Iordan BĂRBULESCU

     Iordan BĂRBULESCU, Ph.D. is a leading expert and researcher in the field of EU political studies and the Dean of the Department for International Relations and European Integration within the NSPSPA. Prior to this he was a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, working on EU issues. Dr. Bărbulescu’s publications demonstrate his inclination towards the federal idea of the EU integration and his activity was dedicated entirely to promoting it, especially with regard to Romania. His works, published and forthcoming, highlight the importance of the Lisbon Treaty as a means to constitutionalize the European social model, furthering EU’s federal-like project. Moreover, Dr. Barbulescu’s is the leader of the Jean Monnet Module of the European Commission, “Rights and Identities beyond the State: Managing Diversity in the European Union”.
