At the beginning of September (5- 11 September 2011) there was held the first training session for teachers within the Jean Monnet Module Rights and Identities beyond State: Managing Diversity in the European Union. Participants performed theoretical and practical activities in four disciplines – „Institutions of the European Union” and „Public Policies of the European Union” (Prof. Iordan Bărbulescu), „European Citizenship” (Prof. Cezar Bîrzea) and „The Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. The Values of the European Union” (Prof. Gabriel Andreescu); their activities were supported by a series of documents (books and a DVD with tests and applications), according to the stipulations of the module.
On September 12 it was organized the roundtable Romania's Membership in the EU - Key Issues and the Need to Expand EU Knowledge, where the main challenges that Romania faces in the process of European integration have been discussed. To facilitate the debate, two materials were prepared for this conference: „Romania's Membership in the EU: Key Aspects” and „The Need for Expanding and Disseminating Knowledge Concerning European Integration”.
